About Maharaj ji

A Miracle Baba & Maha Yogi

Neem Karoli or Neeb Karori Baba known to his followers as Maharaj-ji, was a Guru and an incarnation of Hindu God Hanuman ji. He is known outside India for being the spiritual master of a number of Americans who travelled to India in the 1960s and 70s.


He was born as Lakshman Narayan Sharma around 1900 in the village Akbarpur in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh India, to a wealthy Brahmin family. 


He was known under many names, including: Lakshman Das, Handi Wallah Baba, and Tikonia Walla Baba. When he did tapasya and  sadhana at Vavania Morbi in Gujarat he was known as Tallaiya Baba. 


“There can be no biography of him. He seems to have been known by different names in many parts of India, appearing and disappearing through the years. His non-Indian devotees of recent years knew him as Neem Karoli Baba, but mostly as “Maharajji”. Just as he said, he was "nobody". ~Ram Dass~


His super natural powers 


Many accounts confirm Maharaj ji’s super neutral power. He use to get vanish in the air in front of everyone’s eyes. He was the knower of every mind and heart, he knew every secret about the people who use to stay near him or taking  his name any where in the world. He use to travel from one city to another into some seconds. Many stories confirm he use to be present at multiple locations at one time. He has power to shrink his body into a mosquito size or to expand it like an elephant. Many stories confirm he raised people from dead. No one was able to understand who was he, once he said “I am Hanuman the servant of Lord Ram”.

Neem Karoli Baba left his body approximately 1:15 AM in the early morning hours of September 11, 1973 in a hospital at Vrindavan, India

Feed All 


His most important and main teaching is feeding people, doing SEWA by feeding them at first place. He use to say,”if you want to see God Feed the hungry one, God comes in the form of food in front of hungry one. He use to say not only body even soul has thrust for food, so we feed others to please souls, and when you please souls by feeding them all your energy go up and you can realize God. He said God can be realized very fast and in easy way by feeding others. 



Serve All


Being an incarnation of Lord Hanuman, Maharaj ji’s main teaching is to serve humanity. As Hanuman ji is famous as the lord Of service. He said “if one doesn’t visit temple it’s fine, but one must feed hungry one to please God”. When devotees use to ask questions to Maharaj ji, How to raise Kundalini power Maharaj ji? He use to reply “feed the hungry one, help the needy and remember God, your Kundalini will go right up”. 



Love All 


Maharaj ji has talked highly about love. He said Love is the only way to win over any situation in life. We must love each other and if do so all our problems go away automatically. He said no bad things stay there where love reside. “SO LOVE LIKE GANDHI, DO LOVE LIKE JESUS DID”. he use to say love is the strongest medicine. He said the power of love is the only power which can control even to Lord Rama. A devotee can control God if his love is pure for him. 




Remember God  


Maharaj ji said,”there are many ways to reach God, but Bhakti is the best way to reach him, because this is the only egoless way to reach God” When devotees use to ask Maharaj ji whom we should Worship Maharaj ji? He use to say, “Worship to Lord Ram, who can be greater them him, he is the lord of everything, and Hanuman ji can take to you to lord Ram at once, so worship lord Hanuman to get Lord’s grace very fast. 

Chant Lord Rama’s name & recite Hanuman Chalisa

Maharaj ji use to tell to devotees to chant lord Ram’s name all the time, he use to say “if one chants lord Ram’s name all the time under any circumstances, he all work get done easily”. He use to say “there is no such thing in the world which can not be achieve by chanting Lord Rama’s name. He use to say about Hanuman chalisa that “If any one, any where in the recite Hanuman chalisa for Hanuman ji, Hanuman ji can grant even that which is not in the destiny of the of recite Hanuman chalisa.
